Snow stands as the symbol of winter. Just as it does in Venice, where the white mantle is reserved to few photographs, which in the past have frozen the image of a more surreal city, at the exact moment the ice water miraculously descends close to the water of the Lagoon. And snow, in turn, is the symbol of purity, of genuine flavors that time conserves or brings out to light.
It is exactly to the meaning of purity, and to the many ways through which it can be represented, that the sixth edition of 'Inverno Veneziano', Venetian Winter, refers to and dedicates its appointments.
The 2008-2009 exhibits completes a cycle that started six years ago, as almost a program challenge, but strategic too, designed to broaden the tourist offer not just in relation with Time, but also with quality. For a 'special' city like Venice it is difficult, and for many seemed impossible, putting together almost all the public and private subjects of the territory with the objective of coordinating and offering a unique tourist and cultural proposal.
Ambito Turistico di Venezia of the provincial APT has won the challenge thanks to the cooperation of sponsors and companies that have believed in a project in which the term System for six year has unwound in a long calendar which, from November to January, has filled the days with shows, concerts, tasting, art exhibits and food and wines festivals.
This year the scheduled appointments have been provided for a greater search of genuineness and uniqueness (intended as authenticity) either in the section dedicated to music (magic listening), as well as to tasting (sweet tasting). It will be the full voices of the contraltos, those intense of tenors and melodic of Italian artists to accompany the concerts for organs scheduled for the month of November.
The ancestor inherited rhythms of the African songs are revived in December in gospel concerts by the 'Joy Singers Choir', accompanied by the Londoner Colin Vassell, which will be held in prestigious churches between Venice and the mainland.
Even the tasting dedicated to chocolate, the multi celebrated 'food of the gods', strengthens the common thread of purity tied to taste, generated by the genuineness of the raw and natural products. The cooperation with Slow Food Veneto guarantees the quality of the events and care for the preparations of those combinations between chocolate and other flavors presented in an attractive and new fashion.
