Faro Piave Vecchia
It is the Contrada that defines in the north the municipal territory and stretches out near the mouth of the River Sile, which serves as a boundary with Lido of Jesolo. Here we can find the Gates of Cavallino, the basin of navigation opened in 1632 which is still an important water joint between the lagoon and the Venetian inland, near Friuli, through the rivers and the canals of the region. Here we can also find two renowned wet docks for sports boats, a little fishing port, some of the greatest holiday villages of the Littoral, a yard for the construction of sports boat, farm and refined restaurants. At the mouth of the Sile there is the Lighthouse of Piave Vecchia, which also hosts the offices of the Harbour-Office of Venice. This Contrada is called this way because, until the end of the XVII Century, it was the mouth of the Piave, which was later diverted from the current 'Contrada' making room for the Sile. Its logo reproduces a detail of the Lighthouse.
Cavallino
t is the Contrada which has given the name to the Littoral, because it is one of the most ancient, since it was born at the beginning of the XVI century. Its name comes from Equilium (from equus the Latin word for horse ) the town that was situated in this part of the lagoon ever since Roman times. Originally the town was touched by the ancient Port of Lio Maggiore before the gradual growth of the Littoral moved it to its current location. In the square there is the ancient country palace (that has now become a restaurant) dating back to the beginning of the XVII Century and a small church of the second half of the XVII Century (reproduced on the logo). Behind the square there is a beautiful viewpoint on the lagoon, with the island of Falconera and the island of Mesole in the foreground, on the left and immediately behind, Lio Maggiore with the open lagoon on the right.
Cavallino is an excellent starting point for excursions on the lagoon. Its economy is mostly based on trading, but there are also some farms and some lagoon fishermen.

Ca' di Valle
It is the primary hotel and tourist centre of the Littoral and in summer it also hosts the Funfair. Until a few decades ago, there used to be expanses of water linked to the sea and the lagoon that were used as a fishing dock. There also used to be the house of the fishermen, from which the Contrada derives its name. Such a name, referring to a household like those of the other Contradas, was given by the military headquarters of World War One. The military presence along the Littoral of Cavallino was massive during the war, since there were four coastal batteries, then discarded but still existing, that had the important duty of defending Venice. The economy of the Contrada is mostly based on hotels and houses to let out for the summer. In its territory however there are also a couple of holiday villages, various trading centres and some excellent restaurants. Its logo, with the shells and the waves of the sea, recalls its bathing essence.

Ca' Ballarin
It is a Contrada of ancient origins, slightly more recent than Cavallino. Particularly ancient is the part that is closer to the lagoon, still called 'Settecasoni', with the old dwellings of the marshy roofs of the old days. Conversely, the build-up area located on the outskirts of via Fausta has more recent origins. It is a quite residential place, constantly growing, but within its territory there are also boarding-houses, houses to let out for the summer, a small holiday village, farms, workshops and excellent restaurants. In this Contrada there is also the Centro Vacanze Union Lido, which, under the name of NSU was the first campsite of the Littoral in 1995,. Like all the Contradas situated along the Littoral, this Contrada stretches out from the lagoon to the sea. Near the beach there is a gorgeous pinewood with undergrowth rich in rare vegetable species. On the side of the lagoon a viewpoint opens on an ample expanse of water, out of which the low outlines of the island of Mesole emerge and, directly behind this, the outlines of Lio Piccolo. The logo draws back to its ancient name 'Settecasoni'.

The twelve contradas
The Contradas that take part in the Race are the ancient Contradas that constitute the Littoral of Cavallino and the islands of Treporti; these form the municipality of Cavallino Treporti, born on the 2nd of April 1999 out of the municipality of Venice after a referendum.
From the north to the south these Contradas are: Faro Piave Vecchia, Cavallino, Ca' Di Valle, Ca' Ballarin, Ca' Vio, Ca' Pasquali, Ca' Savio, Punta Sabbioni, Treporti, Saccagnana, Lio Piccolo and Mesole. The Palio, a banner to be exhibited for a whole year, will go to the Contrada that will have won the Regatta of the Champions on gondolas, to which the rich lottery will be also associated
